Welcome to Buttermoon Handmade.

I look forward to making garments for you or a little one in your life!

Most of my clothing is custom and just about always made to order. This means a few things! Firstly, when you order, you will prompted to provide certain information that I need.

For adult clothing this will be things like your measurements (see note below for more details), any additional info you may want to give about yourself (body shape/height/inseam etc), and color choice. You can find all my available colors on my ‘COLORS’ page. Take a look at these and become familiar with the options! Next, head over to the shop! When you go to add an item to your cart you will be prompted to enter your measurements and color choice in a form.

Most of the children’s clothing is made to standard sizing. Take a look at my available colors on my ‘COLORS’ page. Become familiar with them! You will see linen choices (for most of the kiddo clothes), thermals (for thermals), and finally French Terry/rib (retro shorts, sweatshirts etc) options . Next, head over to the shop! If the item to wish to buy is ready to ship or makers choice all you have to do is select the size and add to your cart! Otherwise, you will be prompted to select a size and color choice.

If you have ANY questions about this process please feel free to reach out via email.

HOW TO MEASURE YOUR BODY

It is important to measure accurately so that your clothing fits properly. Everything is custom to your measurements so getting them right is key. In your most average and non constricting clothing (ie not super tight compressing leggings/bra) stand in front of a mirror and use a flexible measuring tape (you can find them quite cheap at most grocery stores! They are super handy to have!). You can have a friend help too if that’s easier. First, measure around the largest part of your bust being sure the tape remains parallel to the floor, isn’t twisted, and isn’t too tight or loose. This is your full bust measurement. Next, measure right around your belly button (keeping the tape parallel). This is your waist measurement. Lastly, wrap the tape around the largest part of your hips/butt for a hips/butt measurement.

I have a video highlight of this whole process saved on my instagram for reference.

Again, if you have any questions please reach out. We all deserve clothes that fit OUR bodies.
